Bio

Artur Akhmetov, born in 1985 in Ufa (Bashkortostan), is a renowned Jazz musician and a professional guitar player and band leader known for his unique sound, creative approach and strong band leadership. He has toured internationally, including performances in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Cyprus, China, Italy, France, Russia, United States and many more countries. He also appeared on many notable music festivals worldwide, including “Eurosonic Festival” (The Netherlands), “Musicfest” (Russia) and “JZ Jazz Festival” (China). Artur performed at notable venues such as: Jazz Standard (New York), Blue Note (New York), Smalls (New York), Bar 55 (New York), Fat Cat (New York), Zinc Bar (New York), Tommy Jazz (New York), Bar Nextdoor (New York), Dizzy’s Jazz club (New York), Sonny Boy (New York), Don’t tell Mama (New York), Bimhuis (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), café Alto (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), Birdland (Hamburg, Germany), Jazz Keller (Frankfurt, Germany), East Shore Jazz Club (Beijing, China), Londa (Cyprus), Cave 61 (Heilbronn, Germany), TIK (Austria), New Orleans Jazz Club (Groningen, Netherlands), Harbour Jazz Club (Winschoten, Netherlands), Butman Jazz Club (Moscow, Russia) and many more.

Artur studied at the famous “Conservatory of Amsterdam” (The Netherlands), where he collaborated with some of the world’s best and well-known jazz musicians such as Jesse Van Ruller, Michael Moore, Peter Beets, Marc van Roon, Joris Teepe, Jonathan Kreisberg and Kurt Weiss, to name a few. He also holds a Master’s degree from the prestigious Prince Claus Conservatory (The Netherlands), where he specialized in Jazz Performance major. Prior to this he obtained his Bachelor degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, which is the school of many famous jazz musicians. He also obtained a degree from the famous Gnesin’s College Of Music in Moscow (Russia). 

 

Over the past six years, since 2018, Artur has resided in the United States and has been able to expand and strengthen his musical career. He has had the privilege of performing at renowned venues and has established himself as a respected band leader.
